With the aim of strengthening environmental management and promoting proper disposal of special waste, the2026 Post-Consumer Waste Collection Campaign will take place onApril 27, 28, and 29at various strategic locations throughout the city of Montería.
This initiative aims to raise public awareness about the importance of properly disposing of waste such as batteries, expired medications, pesticide containers, and electrical and electronic devices, among other items, which, due to their composition, pose a high risk to human health and the environment if not handled properly.
Post-consumer waste contains hazardous substances that can contaminate the soil, water, and air, affecting ecosystems and the quality of life of the population. Therefore, its collection and treatment through authorized programs ensure that it is reused, recycled, or safely disposed of, thereby preventing long-term negative impacts.
The main objective of this event is to provide the community with appropriate drop-off locations for this waste, promote a culture of environmental responsibility, and coordinate efforts among public and private entities and post-consumer programs to move toward a circular economy model in the municipality.
We invite all citizens, educational institutions, businesses, and organizations to actively participate in this event by taking small steps that lead to big changes for the sustainability of our region.
“Proper disposal today ensures a healthy environment tomorrow.”
